Master Harold and the Belarussians

A theatre in Belarus has taken Harold Pinter’s Nobel acceptance speech as a skeleton around which they have devised a very political and apparently astounding collage of Pinter’s more recent dramatic writing. If the reviews are to be believed, it is something to be seen.

It has just played at a conference in Leeds dedicated to Pinter, and is an act of bravery for a company that faces no small risks for such work (their audiences are often contacted covertly by cell phone, and told where the show is to be).
