Opening An Account

As we mentioned here a while ago, Tony Blair is soon to have his day in court at The Tricycle Theatre. Called To Account is a tribunal play investigating Blair’s decision to invade Iraq, and it’s the latest in a series of verbatim plays directed by Tricycle Artistic Director Nicolas Kent. He’s one of the artists behind the resurgence of political theatre in Britain, having directed such powerful verbatim pieces as Nuremberg, Srebrenica, The Colour of Justice, Justifying War, and most recently Guatanamo. Here, Kent describes assembling the new production and the thrill of running one of the most successful and popular theatres in Europe.
